Sarah Shook is a Design Engineer with 8+ years of experience designing and building polished, scalable web applications, bridging design and engineering through interactive UI development, design systems, and component architecture.

She focuses on front-end development, creating responsive and accessible UIs, utilizing frameworks including (but not limited to) Vue, React, React Native, Next.js, and Nuxt, and takes ownership of UI experiences from Figma through production.

Whether design or development, she puts an emphasis on accessibility, ensuring applications and websites have semantic HTML, are screen-reader friendly, and color schemes meet WCAG standards.

Sarah has spoken at conferences including Commit Your Code ("CSS Animations in Modern Interfaces," 2025) and THAT Conference ("Color Theory for UI Development," 2024). She was also featured on freeCodeCamp's podcast with Quincy Larson.

In addition, she was a technical reviewer for Joe Attardi's Web Browser API Cookbook, released 2023.
